HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Min 1948-07-20 4E6 .' Seal Beach, California, July 20, 1948. The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 8:00 P. M. with Mayor Shufelt presiding. Meeting was called to order with salute to the Flag. Present, Mayor Shufelt Councilmen, Brostrom, Leonard, Jacobsen Absent, Councilman, Bowers I The minutes of regular meeting of ~uly 6th were read and appro ved on Mayors motion. COMMUNICATIONS: League Letter of Orange County League of Oities announcing dats of Dinner monthly dinner meeting. Received and Filed. Letter announcing relection of W. S. Knighton as Fire Ohief Sperry Again Chief for the ensueing year., It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Leonard that appointment be approved. -- Motion carried Un Letter of Lee Benno calling attention to protests received by Benno local merchants from supplying firms in regard to excessive Wheel Wheel Tax License fees in proportion to stops and sales and asking that Tax the enforcement of the Ordinance be 'held up pending hearing ex- pression from merchants affected. Received and Filed. .1 Letter of J. A. Wooley reguarding proposed water and sewer lines mi Arner- ich and right of way for same for James V. Arnerich. It was moved by Water Leonard, second by Brostrom that same be referred to City Attorney Sewer to take matter up with Mr. Woolley. Ordinance No 360 was presented for its 1st reading. Amendment to the Universal Code Ordinance. It was moved by Brostrom, second by Leonard to send Ordinance No 360 to its 2nd reading and final adoption. Motion carried Un. 458 Ord 361 Ord 362 Sewer. Ordinance No. 361 was presented for its 1st reading. ~mend~ ment to the Plumbing Code. It was moved by Jacobsen to send Ord- inance No. 361 to its 2nd reading and final adoption. Motion carried Un Ordinance No. 362 was presented for its 1st reading. Fixing charges to be made for water meter installiations. It was moved by Brostrom, second by Leonard that Ordinance No. 362 be sent to its second reading and final adoption. That hereafter the Oity make said connections and take the sewer connection to the property line at a fixed pr~ce of $30.00 per iastallation.
