Meeting was called to order with salute to the Flag. Present, Absent, Mayor Shufelt Oouncilmen, Leonard, Jacobsen, Brostrom, Bowers Councilmen, None I The minutes of regular meeting of September a.nd special meet- ing of September 29 were read. It was moved by Brostrom that minutes of special meeting of September 29, be declared null & void Failed for want of a second. On Mayors motion minutes of both meetings to stand approved as read. Palm Letter of John B. Nye asking removal of Palm trees from in front of Lots 42 - 44 Block 13, Bay City Tract. Referred to Street Committ It was moved by Brostrom, second by Jacobsen that the State' - Sjate Controllers Office be sent a certified copy of part of the minutes' Trees Oontr- of this meeting authorizing the City Auditor and Street Superinten- oller dent to sign the annual report to the State Oontroller of receipts Report AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Leonard, None None Jacobsen, Brostrom, Bowers, Shufelt Motion carried I and expenditures for Street construction and maintenance. Report for the month of ~ September of Police Chief, City Judge, Building, Water and Tax Departments were read. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Bowers that reports be received and filed. Motion carried Un' Demands numbering 467 to 500 inclusive, amounting to $8,879.03 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Brostrom, second by Jacobsen that bills be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same. It was moved by Brostrom that Ordinance No. 367 be deemed as having had its final reading and be adopted. Failed 367 for want of a second. It was moved by Leonard, second by Jaco- bsen that Ordinance No. 367 be held in abeyance until further study is made of permit fees. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Bowers that not in excess of $250.00 be appropriated to finance the ex- 1 pense of said investigation. OOMMUNICATIONS: Petition containing twenty (20) signatures of residents west of Water ~th Street was presented. Many householders were present and the Condi_condition of the City water supply obtained from ~he water lines in tion ing Commissions recommendation denying the application for Street zoning of 8th Street between Oentral Ave and Ocean Avenue re-zo ning C Of Oomm Plan Comm 5th that section was discussed. A future meeting with the City Enginesr and other competent authority on the subject to be held in the nea~ future at which time the matter of correction will be more completely explored. Letter of the Ohamber of Oommerce thanking the Council for the Cities co-operation in making the Youth Day a success, Received & Filed Letter of H. C. Van Ausdelen to Planning Oommission resigning as member, It was suggested that Mr. Van Ausdeln make resigination to the appolnting body, the City Council. Letter of Planning Oommission protesting manner of appointment of its members togather with recommendation of copy of new Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 199. Both communications referred to City Atty.
