Mayor Shufelt asked the Qity Engineer for a report on costs and

D~l Murphy of the Ansco Construction Co., togather with the St.

Superintendent made a tour of the alleys of the City on Monday
February 21, and Mr. Murphy gave the City by letter an estimate of
cost in three different methods of repair.
Mr. Woolley quoted from
this letter and suggested that the 1st alternative be followed-- to
fine grade and seal-coat i!'ith bitumel and'a co~rse of 3/8" rock and
rolled at an es~imated cost of ~~ ~ per square foot Woolley expressed
the opinion that to build up our maintenance crew and organize to do

the work ourselves is not as satisfactory or as cheap as to let the
work out by contract. City Engineer was requested to contact Mr.
Gripper of the State Highway Department to ascertain if the cost of
alley repair may be take~ from our 5/8 ; gas tax fund.

The Oity Council of the Oity of Seal Beach met in regular session
at 7:30 P. M. and was called to order by Mayar Shufelt with salute to
the Flag.

The minutes of regular meeting of February 21 and adjournsd meeting
of February 24th were read and approved on Mayors motion.
