The City Council of the City of Seal B~ach met in 'regular" session
at 7:30 P. M. with Mayor Shuf~lt presiding. Meeting was called to
order with salute to the Flag.

The minutes of regular meeting of March 7 were read and approved
on Mayors motion.
The first order of busi~ess was the consideration of the Appli-
cation of George L. Duff for non-conforming permit to conduct a lum-
ber and building supply business in Tract "C-l" of llanc!1o Lps,Alamitos.
Non- togather with the consent of the owners joining with Mr. Duff. After

ming 'check of necessary papers being in order to comply with the ordinance

again presented. After detaileq,discussion, it was moved by Jacob-
sen, second by Bowers that,permit be granted, ~ubject to amendment of
Ordinance No. 335. That operation be limited in sach machine, in

two (2) additional Life Guard stations, referred to Beach Oommittee;-
Letter of John P. Johnson making application for the p~ivilege of
selling soft drinks and prepared foods on the Beach. R~ferred to the
Oity Council as a Oommittee of the whole ~or further investigation
and oonsideration.
Verbal request and invitation was extended by L. C. Hickcnx, to'
the Oouncil to be present in the Auditorium Friday the 25th at 8:00
P. M. at which time the AMVETS would present a gavel to the YOUth
Foundation.

J. A. Woolley madea written report whiph was read by C. A. Miller
Water on the proposition of securing additional water lands and drilling of
Land wells and the estimated oost thereof. It was ~oved by Bowers, second
& by Brostrom that the Mayor be directed to send letters to the proper
Wells Government officials on the proposed securing of acreage within the
Cost Wavy Net Depot base.

Report of the Oity Treasurer and Oity Clerk for the month of
February were read. ~t was moved by Jacobsen, second by Bowers
that reports be reoeived and filed.
Motion carried
Demands numbering 1061 to 1197 inclusive, amoun~ing to $3,980.50
as approved by the Finance Oommittee were presented. It was moved
by Brostrom, seoond by Jacobsen that bills be allowed and warrants
drawn on the Treasury for same.

NOTIOE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a special meeting of the Oity Oouncil,
of the Oity of Seal Beach, is called at the request of the Mayor, for
the purpose of ~o~sidering, revising and directing the preperation
for adoption, of a new Business License or License's, in the form
considered to be to the'best interests of the Oity, and for any and
all other matters of business which may properly come before said
Oity Oouncil. '
Meeting to be held,on Tuesday ~arch ?9, 1949, at the hour of
7:30 P. M., in the Council Ohamber of the City Hall Building.
