Meeting was called to order with salute to the Flag. Present, Absent, Mayor Shufelt Oouncilmen, Bowers, Brostrom, Jacobsen, Leonard Councilmen, None The minutes of regular meeting of April IS were read, and after correction on number of lots from two to three asked by Youth r.ounda~on for lease, were approved on Mayor's motion. I Letter of the Metropolitan Water District stating the Mayor's letter would be presented to the Board of Directors. Received and filed. Letter of the Civic Improvement Association protesting conveying" of lots north of Oity Hall and Library Building to the Youth Foundation. Received and filed. Letter of George Adams request~ng license for the purpose of , ' conducting business of Palm Reading. It was moved by Leonard, second Read'ng by Brostrom that application be denied. Park Lot V.F.W. Post 4048, submitting a bid of $1,200.00 for exclusive lease of Beach Parking Lot for eeason of 1949, on M~!or's motion matter referred to a joint meeting with Council and Commander of V. F. W. Letter of American Legion asking to be granted license and permit to operate a ilLegal Skill Gamell in a portion of the IIGarden of Allah'l Legln Game building. Attorney Samuelson was present representing the Legion. y a.of O. It was moved by Leonard, second by Jacobsen that application be denied pending action of Petitions that have been deposited with the Olerk affecting the situation. Therefore the Oouncil deems, it to be to the best interests of the City and Residents thereof, that the application be denied, as a granting of the license and permit would affect the health, safety, moral and general welfare of the Community. It was moved by Brostrom, seoond by ,Jacobse~ that bills be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same. Shufelt None None Motion carried It was moved by Bowers, second by JacQbsen that the Mayor and City Olerk be authorized to sign the agreement with the North Orange Water Oounty Water District.. Dist. It was moved by Land I Leonard, second by Jacobsen that further prooeedings be placed in the hands of the City Attorney and he be directed to proceed with Oondemnation Suit. Shufelt None None Motion carried It was moved by Leonard, second by Bowers that the City enter Youth into Lease Agreement for a term of fifteen years to Youth Foundation Foun- dat'Non Lots 9 - 11 - 13, Blook 107, Bay City Tract. City Attorney directed to prepare said lea,se to be gone over at a later date. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Bowers that the Mayor and City Olerk be authorized to sign-check in the sum of $900.00 as first payment on said above mentioned il"oJ:-l'er. Greenwood appeared before the Oouncil stating Shop owners permission to remain until she could re-locate or sell same. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Bowers that Mrs. Greenwood be granted thirty days extension of her permit.
