The City Council of the City of Seal Beach, met in regular
session at S:OO P. M. with Mayor Shufelt presiding. Meeting
was called to order with salute to the Flag.

The minutes of the regular meeting of August 1, were read II
and approved on Mayor's motion.
Notification of Alcoholic Beverage License transfer from
Harry Goodman to Earl S. Raines, Garden of Allah. Received and
filed.
Letter of Ohester Quadara of 1216 Ocean Avenue, requesting
stop signs on Seal Way at the North and South entrances to 13th
and Seal Way. Referred to Chief of Police and Police Committee
for attention.
Letter of American Legion Auxiliary, requesting Amendment to
proposed Ordinance No. 3BO. Received and filed.
Letter of the Planning Commission, requesting the City Att-
orney to check on the legality of the Planning Commission Ordinance I
No. 172. City Attorney stated that a new Planning Oommission Ord-
inance was in preparation and would be presented to the City Council
at an early date.
Letter of Jessie M. Havens requesting permit to move a five
room house from its present location at 122- 7th Street, to
111- 6th Street, together with application presented to the Build-
ing Department was read. Letter of Thomas R. Jones, Building Ins-
pector' stating that property had been posted and cards sent to all
property owners within three hundred (300) feet of the new location
of the building, and declaring date of hearing to be August 1,,1949,
at the regular meeting of the Oity Council. Three,'or.al_pro~ests

was read. It was moved by Brostrom, second by Bowers that report
be received and filed.

presented. Councilman Brostrom refused to sign Demand No. 293 of
the Beach City Ohevrolet Oompany, for the first installment payment
on the Maintenance Depar.tment1s 1949 Chevrolet Pick-up Truck. It
was moved by Jacobsen, second by Bowers that Demand No. 293 be
allowed.
