HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 5231 2004-04-26 WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, RESOLUTION NUMBER ~~I A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION I2(A) OF RESOLUTION NO. 4186, REGARDING TI-IE REGULAR MEETING DAY FOR THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL ADViSORY COMMiTTEE I the Seal Beach City Council has adopted an "Archaeological and I-listorical Element" of the General Plan on August 24, 1992; and the "Archaeological and I-listorical Element" requires a standing committee dtlsignateg as the "Archaeological Advisory Committee" to be appointed by lhe City Council and such members shall serve without pay for a tenll not to exceed one (1) year, unless reappointed; and the Archaeological Advisory Committee has had dilliculty in maintaining a quorum to conduct business of the Conunittee on the Council approved meeting date of the Committee; and in ordcr to cffcctivcly conduct the business of tIle Archaeological Advisory Committee, tIle Committee determined on April 7, 2004 tIlat it is appropriate to rcconuuend revisions to City Council Resolution No. 4186 regarding tIle mceting datc of tIle Committee; and I thc City Council has reviewed Archaeological Advisory Conunittee Resolution 04-1, A Resolution of thc Archaeological Advisory Committee of the City of Seal Beach, California, Recommending to thc City Council an Amendment to Resolution No. 4186, to Change tIle Regular Meeting Day for tIle Archaeological Advisory Committec, and Archacological Advisory Committee Administrativc Dircctive 4, Relating to Regular Meeting Day of the Archaeological Advisory Committcc, both adopted by' tIle Committec on April 7, 2004; and thc City Council concurs with the recommendations of the Archaeological Advisory Committce. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: I. City Council Resolution No. 4186, is revised by revising Section 12(a), to read as follows: I "Section 12. Mcetinl!s: Rulcs ofProccdurc: Records. (a) The Committee shall hold a regular meeting during each even numbercd month in the City Council Chambers which shall be opcn to the public, and may adjoum or re-adjourn any regular meeting to a datc and hour certain which shall be specilied in the ordcr of adjounul1cnt; when so adjourned such adjoumed mccting Resolution Number ~~/ I shall be a regular meeting for all purposes. If at any time any regular meeting falls on a holiday, such rcgular mccting shall be held on thc ncxt business day. Thc day ofthc regular meeting ofthe Committee shall be detennined by thc Members of the Committee and approved by thc COlllmittee pursuant to approval of an "Administrative Dircctive" which shall bc forwardcd to thc City Council and City Clerk for infol111ation purposes. The Committee may modify the detennincd meeting day by amcndment of the adoptcd "Administrative Dircctive." 2. TIle Archaeological Advisory Committee is hcreby inst1"llcted to providc a copy of any future revisions to "Archaeological Advisory Committcc Administrativc Directive 4, Relating to Regular Meeting Day of the Archaeological Advisory Committee" to the City Council for infol1nation at the next available City Council meeting after adoption of any such futurc rcvisions.
