Home My WebLink AboutCC Ord 1522 2004-03-31 ORDINANCE NUMBER J~~ I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY ON TUESDAY, MAY 11TH, 2004, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF THE CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH. WHEREAS, Under the provisions of the Charter of the City of Seal Beach, California, a General Municipal Election shall be held on Tuesday, May 11TH, 2004, for the election of Municipal Officers. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: I Section 1. "j .\- '~'..$f: Section 3."~ h~!1a~' e City Clerk is authorized, instructed a~ directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. Section 4. That the polls for the election shall be open at seven O'clock (7:00) a.m. of the day of the election and shall remain open continuously from that time until eight o'clock (8:00) p.m. of the same day when the polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14401 of the Elections Code of the State of California. I Section 5. That pursuant to Elections Code Section 12310, a stipend for services for the persons named as precinct board members is fixed at the sum of $100;00 for each Inspector and $70.00 for each Clerk for the election. The rental for each polling place, where a charge is made, shall be the sum of $40.00 for the election. Ordinance Number J'~~ Section 6. section 7. section 8. Section 9. That in all particulars not recited in this Ordinance, the election shall be held and' conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections. That notice of the time and place of holding the election is given and the City Clerk is authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of the election, in time, form and manner as required by law. I Pursuant to Section 416 of the Charter of the City of Seal Beach, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and l shall cause sam~ to be published as required by law.
