AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH
AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY
OF SEAL BEACH PROHIBITING SMOKING ON THE
MUNICIPAL PIER
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS
S~ction I. Article 1I of Chapter 4 of the Code of the City of Seal Beach IS hereby amend~d by adding a
new Section 4-25 to read as follows:

"Section ~ Smoking Prohibited

(a) It shall be nnlawful for any person to smok~ at any time upon the mUlllcipal pIer of the
City, As us~d in this scctlon, "to smoke" shall mclude the followmg: the carrymg or
holding of a lighted pipe, cigar, cigarette or similar deVIce; the lightmg ofa pIpe, cigar,
cigarette or similar device; and the exhaling of the gaseous products and particles crt:ated
by the use of a lighted pipe, cigar, cigarette or similar device
(b) The City Manager shall post "No Smoking" SignS upon the municipal pier at such places
as deemed appropnate All such signs shall clearly and conspicuously display the phrase
"No Smoking," the international no smoking symbol or both,
(c) Each VIolation of the provisions set forth herem shall constitute a separate infraction
pursuant to Section 1-8(c) "
