Home My WebLink AboutCC Ord 1390 1994-09-26 ORDINANCE NO. /~9" AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA REGARDING ADJUSTMENT OF THE PER- BARREL TAX ON OIL, GAS, PETROLEUM OR OTHER HYDROCARBON SUBSTANCE PRODUCTION AND AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1, The Code of the City of Seal Beach, California is hereby amended by amending the second, third and fourth sentences of Subsection 15A-1(a) (3) of Chapter 15A (Oil, Gas, Petroleum or Other Hydrocarbon Substance Production) to read as follows: .1 "Such tax shall be adjusted annually on July 1st of each year in accordance with the change in the Producer Price Index during the previous fiscal year, but in no event shall the per barrel tax be adjusted to a rate below 12.5 cents per barrel of oil produced. Such adjustment shall be determined by the Director of Administrative Services. For purposes of this Section, "Producer Price Index" means the producer price index for crude petroleum (domestic production), as prepared by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the United States Department of Labor, or if such agency shall cease to prepare such an index, then any comparable index covering the Los Angeles and Orange County areas prepared by any federal or state agency, which is approved by the City Council." Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the s?me to be I published as required by law.
