Home My WebLink AboutCC Res 5530 2007-02-12 RESOLUTION NUMBER 5530 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH AND THE CITIES OF CYPRESS AND CORONA FOR USE OF THEIR FIREARM RANGES WHEREAS, the cities of Cypress and Corona both have firearms range facilities I that meet the training needs of the Seal Beach Police Department; and WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach ("City") and its agents have sought out alternative locations to qualify with their rifles after the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station banned rifles from their firearms range; and this will allow Seal Beach Police Officers t~..qualif~ at the Cypress and Corona firearms ranges; and , . .~ ,~REAS, the City must enter into agreements with the Cities of Cypress and Coroila)o {apilitate t~e use of their firearm ranges; and , .' . .. ...:~ ,~ . ... WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into such agreements with the Cities of Cypress and Corona THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution. SECTION 2. The City Council hereby approyes the agreement between the City of Seal Beach and the Cities of Cypress and Corona. SECTION 3. The Council hereby directs the City Manager or the Police Chief to sign the agreement for use of the firearm ranges under the control of the Cities of Cypress and Corona.
