HomeMy WebLinkAboutRDA Res 83-1 1983-02-28 I RESOLUTION NUMBER 8ij -I A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPOINTING THE SEAL BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION AS THE ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD FOR TWO-STORY CABANA CONSTRUCTION IN THE SEAL BEACH TRAILER PARK. THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH HEREBY FINDS, DETERMINES, RESOLVES AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. It is desirable to insure the compatability of exterior design of two-story cabanas with the surrounding area for the general benefit of all residents and general welfare of the cOlllllunity. Section 2. The Seal Beach Planning Commission is hereby appointed to serve as an Architectural Review Board for construc- tion of two-story cabanas in the Seal Beach Trailer Park. I Section 3. I Q.....3H h Ci tr; ~'rk I Resolution Number EXHIBIT "A" ARCtlITECTURAL GUIDELINES FOR TWO-STORY CABANAS 1.) I Purpose The purpose of the Architectural Board is to review plans for construction or alterations of two-story cabanas to ensure compatibility of the external design of structures in the park, and surrounding area, for the benefit of all residents and the general welfare of the community. 2.) Duties A. Prior to the construction, erection, placement or alteration of any two- story cabana within the park, the building plans for such cabana shall be approved by the Architectural Board. The Architectural Board shall approve only those building plans that are compatible with the existing structures in the park and surrounding area. B. Six sets of plans shall be submitted to the Architectural Board for their review. These plans shall be drawn to scale and shall include a plot plan, floor plans and elevations. The elevations shall show the types of materials used on the exterior of the buildings and the colors of said materials in their finished form. Specifications may also be required if it is determined appropriate. C. Within 30 days of submission of the building plans, the Architectural Board shall in writing, approve, conditionally approve, or deny any request. In the case of an adverse decision, plans may be revised and resubmitted to the Architectural Board. If the plans are revised and resubmitted, the I Board shall approve, conditionally approve or deny the revised plans within 30 days. An applicant may appeal the denial of its building plans by the Architectural Board to the Seal Beach Redevelopment Agency and the Redevelopment Agency's decision will be final and conclusive. Such appeal shall be filed in writing with the Redevelopment Agency within 15 days after denial by the Architectural Board. 3.) Guidelines A. It is intended that the external design of two-story cabanas within the park be compatible with one another and complementary to the structures in the surrounding area. Therefore, it is desirable to: (1) Use stucco and/or wood on the exterior walls of the cabanas. (2) Use roof styles complementary to the cabana design. (3) Use earthtones and pastel colors on the exterior of the buildings. I
