a. A memorial should be located at a site other than where the incident
happened so that families are comfortable visiting the site. The family

location.
b. Any memorial should not be named the Salon Merritage Memorial as not
all of the victims were associated with the salon.
c. A dedication should not take place on the one year anniversary of the
incident as the families are not going to be interested in attending on that
day.
4. Project Goals
a. The memorial should be a serein place for reflection and quite thought.
b. Any memorial should celebrate life and not memorialize tragedy
c. A memorial should represent the community and not only the tragedy.

a. Eisenhower Park is the preferred location, followed by the Greenbelt, then
5t" and Marina.
b. The committee feels that at Eisenhower Park offers a site that would be
peaceful and serein. It could be a point for personal reflection for the
community to enjoy.
c. The ocean view at Eisenhower Park would act as the water feature that
many residents identified in drawings.
