Honoring
Radio ad o Amateur Civil Emergency Services
Chief Radio Officer Michael Maronta
WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach relies upon the commitment and
dedication of its volunteers to contribute to the operation of the Seal
Beach Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (R.A.C.E.S.)
are "ham" radio operators that are critical to disaster preparation
and response; and
WHEREAS, Michael Maronta assumed the position of RACES Chief
Radio Officer in 2009 and was instrumental in the development and
construction of a radio repeater with its own frequency, the
construction of full radio consoles at the police station and a back-
up console at the fire station, the construction and development of
an amateur television system, and has provided outstanding
leadership that has made the Seal Beach RACES program one of
the premier programs in Orange County; and
WHEREAS, Michael Maronta has donated invaluable technical
expertise and is stepping down from the position of Chief Radio
Officer after six years of dedicated service to our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that the City of Seal
Beach City Council does hereby recognize:
CHIEF" RADIO OF"FICER MICHAEL MARONTA
AND, BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED, that the City of Seal Beach
City Council does hereby commend Michael Maronta for his
contribution to disaster preparedness and the safety of the citizens
of Seal Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I hereby affix my signature and the seal of
the City of Seal Beach this Twelfth Day of October in the Year Two
Thousand Fifteen.
