CALL TO ORDER

APPROVAL OF AGENDA
By Motion of the Historic Preservation Committee this is the time to notify the public of
any changes to the agenda, re-arrange the order of the agenda, and provide an
opportunity for any member of the Historic Preservation Committee or staff to request
an item be removed from the Consent Calendar for separate action.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
At this time members of the public may address the Historic Preservation Committee
regarding any items within the Subject matter jurisdiction of the Committee. Pursuant to
the Brown Act, the Committee cannot discuss or take action on any items not on the
agenda unless authorized by law. Those members of the public wishing to speak are
asked to come forward to the microphone and state their name for the record. All
speakers will be limited to a period of 5 minutes.
CONSENT CALENDAR
SCHEDULED MATTERS
1. Organization of Historic Preservation Committee— Election of Chair and Vice-Chair for
2015
NEW BUSINESS
2. Inventory of Potential Historic Resources
Request: Review existing early construction that represents or may have
played a role in the history of Seal Beach.
Recommendation: Staff recommends the Historic Preservation Committee reviews
the properties with known early construction, ask committee
members to visit the identified resources, and set the matter for
further discussion at a future meeting determined by the
Committee.

3. Goals and Guidelines for Designation of Historic Resources
Request: Review compilation of goals and guidelines for the designation of
historic resources and set for further discussion at a future
meeting set by the Committee.
Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Historic Preservation Committee
reviews the sample guidelines provided and set the
establishment of Historic Preservation Guidelines for further
discussion at a future meeting set by the Committee.
