From: Tim Kelsey Sent: Monday; February 13, 2017 9:32 AM To: Jill ingram; Steve Myrter Subject: FW: Comments on Landscaping Contract Jill, The contract being proposed tonight is scaled back in several places to remain under the budgeted amount City Council approved last June. .Staff anticipates that thisagreement will work as a bridge to get us to a new permanent agreement similar to what was in place when Spectrum was providing services for the City. As staff prepares the budget for fiscal year 2017-18 we will do this with realistic numbers in mind to award a more complete contract. Robert's comparison does'not reference the.term of the agreement which is 5 months. This agreement will allow staff the necessary time to develop a scope of service that is both cost effective and provides high service levels. Also Robert's matrix compares the scope Of service-from a 5 year agreement to a 5 month agreement. By nature the maintenance tasks presented in the 2 are very different. The contract cost proposal has decreased significantly, but so has the scope of services. Whether and/or how frequently services excluded from the proposed contract will be provided by in-house staff is questioned, as well as the cost effectiveness of doing so. The two pdf's attached are reference documents to my comments. Thank you for your consideration, Robert Goldberg 2
