HomeMy WebLinkAboutSupplemental Information Received after Posting of Agenda - West End Pump Station UpdateBackground ► City Council Emergency Proclamation at Special City Council on Tuesday, January 17th ► Rental pumps deployed at West End Pump Station (WEPS) due to both pumps non- operational ► Major storm /flooding on Sunday, January 22, 2017 ► Staff updated City Council on Monday, January 23, 2017, and February 13, 2017 of results of storms and staff's efforts 2/27/2017 1 Background Continued ► Motors removed and both pumps transported to manufacturer (Cascade Pumps) for diagnostic review and repairs on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 ► Cascade Pumps began their work on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 with work completed February 1 st ► Pump Station fully operational February 2nd 2/27/2017 I 2/27/2017 February 1 Th Storm Event ► Pump No. 1 set as lead pump ► Received alarm that Pump No. 1 went offline around 6:30 PM and that Pump No. 2 took over automatically ► Proceeded with diagnostic testing of Pump No. 1 controls and VFD Friday night ► Confirmed that a pump clog was the most likely cause. ► Pump Contractor called out on Sunday to confirm clog and remove ► Pump Contractor returned on Tuesday remove imp flute and remove clog from propeller Next Steps ► Completion of AKM Audit • Will include reports from Cascade Pumps and VFD technician • Results of pumps' diagnostic review and repair • Operations and maintenance recommendations • 3rd party review (peer review) ► Audit findings to be presented to council in approximately 8 weeks 2/27/2017 0 2/27/2017
