HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 4643 1998-06-22 I I I RESOLUTION NUMBER ~.3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH ESTABLISHING HOURLY WAGES FOR PART-TIME EMPLOYEES AND REPEALING ON THE EFFECTIVE DATES SPECIFIED, ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH WHEREAS, the Government Code of the State of California prescribes a procedure for resolving matters regarding wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment; and WHEREAS, an agreement has been reached by the City of Seal Beach for the part-time employees to set the term for salaries for one year, commencing July 1, 1998 and ending June 30, 1999. WHEREAS, if an employee is hired on a part-time basis to an existing classification, that employee shall be paid at the hourly equivalent of the assigned step within the assigned range for that job classification. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Seal Beach to approve the salaries for all part-time employees attached as an Exhibit to the Resolution, for the above stated term, and authorizes the City Manager to eXecute said agreement on behalf of the City. Resolution Number tl6t/~ EXHIBIT A PART-TIME, HOURLY AND SEASONAL SALARY SCHEDULE Effective Julv 8. 1998 (2% increase): Section 1. Part-time Assignment to a Full-time Classification When it is in the best interest of the City to fill a full-time classification as a part-time, the rate of pay I shall be the hourly equivalent of the assigned step within the adopted salary range. When the part-time employment is temporary, the rate of pay shall be the hourly equivalent of Step" A" of the adopted salary range. Section 2. LifelWard Emer~ency Medical Training Certification (EMTl It is in the €ity's best interest to retain beach lifeguards who have a current EMT certification. A $.50 an hour "enhancement pay" shall be added to the assigned rate of pay for Beach Lifeguards, Boat Crew, Boat Skipper, and Area Supervisors who possess and maintain current EMT certification.
