SUMMARY OF REOUEST:
The Seal Beach Police Department is requesting that the new contract with the Bureau of
Animal Control with the City of Long Beach be approved for the period of July 1, 2002
through June 30, 2003. The terms of this contract remain the same.
BACKGROUND:
Commencing July 1, 2002, the Seal Beach Police Department will continue its contract
with the City of Long Beach for animal control service at $13,500 for the fiscal year
2002 -2003. The City has received an appropriate level of service from the City of Long
Beach during the period of 2001 -2002.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no negative impact. The cost of $13,500 will provide the same services as for
the previous financial year and is budgeted accordingly.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City's after hours animal control service contract with the City
of Long Beach be maintained for the financial year 2002 -2003 and that City Staff be
directed to sign the new Agreement for Animal Control Services between the City of
Long Beach and the City of Seal Beach.

session at 7:00 P.M. with Mayor Larson calling the meeting
to order with the Salute to the Flag.

A member of the audience requested that item "M" be removed
from the Consent Calendar for separate consideration.
Campbell moved, second by Yost, to approve the order of the
