Director of Public Works /City Engineer SUBJECT: Budget Amendments SUMMARY OF REOUEST: Staff requests City Council approve the following budget amendment. The Engineering Department has been instructed to submit a mid -year adjustment for our National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit. The Engineering Department has completed the budget for this expenditure and is requesting a budget amendment of $60,144 to cover the fee increase that was submitted to the City of Seal Beach February 2002 by the County of Orange. FISCAL IMPACT: The total proposed budget amendment is $60,144. This adjusted fee for the NPDES will be covered by the general undesignated fund balance. The current general undesignated fund balance is $3,072,208. The proposed general budget amendment will decrease undesignated fund balance by $60,144 to $3,012,064. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends City Council approve a resolution amending the budget for the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System mid -year increase.
