Point # 1
My wife and I understand the City of Seal Beach's 1975 requirement & responsibility of Old
Ranch Town Homes maintaining the tree's on the city owned parkway. Please note that we
are also aware that we pay for this apart from the city service, as well as the Seel Beach
City true trimming assessment.
We also understand that that parkway property belongs to the City of Seal Beach, which
rides with liability responsibility as the Town Homes, to a degree.
Point # 2
The tree's health. We have heard the statements of unstable & diseased tree's as well as
the liability concern. 1 bumped against each and every tree with my 235 pounds and could
budge only three that would seem to be In the path of a possible liability claim. Diseased &
root rot ... I am not the judge, but I have heard of qualified & opposing views.
Point # 3
Old Ranch Town Home Meeting (March 11 th)... Claims of 30 people In attendance was
correct, but It was more like 15 couples out of the 60 units within our complex. College
Park East residents, as for as I could see, were not presents and I for one was unaware u1
anyone representing them In the attendance.
A compromise of a different tree removal plan was discussed at this meeting.'rhe second
meeting (March 13th) had 5 or 6 of us and again no CPE residences. The second tree
removal plan was changed to a third plan, with no prior notification other than the night of
the meeting. That plan was voted upon on & passed by the elected Town Home Board
members.
Point # 4
No overall CPE community meetings were ever held to my knowledge.
Our recommendation to the Seal Beach City Council
1) Remove any and all tress that are a clear & proven tree health liabilities to both the City
of Seal Beach & The Old Ranch Town Homes.
2) Do not remove any tree that can be saved... None.
3) Have the City Of Seal Beach take control of both the City owned parkway and Its trees.
4) Have the City of Seal Beach make the decision for any removal or repairs utilizing
approved resources.
