HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem GJanuary 16, 2001 AGENDA REPORT To: Mayor Campbell and Members of the City Council From: Dan Dorsey, Assistant to the City Manager Subject: RENEWAL OF ONE -YEAR PARKING AGREEMENT BETWEEN GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH AND CITY OF SEAL BEACH SUMMARY OF REQUEST This parking agreement is a one -year renewal of the contract between Grace Community Church, 138 Eighth Street, and City of Seal Beach for use of the Eighth Street City Hall parking lot by members of the church. BACKGROUND Grace Community Church and City of Seal Beach began signing a series of agreements in January of 1995 which allows the church to utilize the Eighth Street City Hall parking lot on Sundays only from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The term of the proposed contract is July 1. 2000 through June 30, 2001. This agreement has been held in abeyance for the past several months because Council and staff have been reviewing possible changes to parking policies. Since the newly- formed Parking Management Committee will be reviewing parking policies over the next few months, it would now be appropriate and timely for Council to consider renewal of this agreement. FISCAL IMPACT The City will continue to receive $1,480.00 from the church for use of the parking lot during this one -year term.
