CENTERS, MUSEUMS, AND FACILITIES FOR WILDLIFE
EDUCATION OR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
UNDER THE SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, CLEAN WATER,

SUMMARY OF REOUEST:

BACKGROUND:
In the year 2000, the voters in the State of California responded to the recreational and

organization, and federally recognized California Indian tribes to enhance, develop, and
rehabilitate urban recreational and cultural centers, museums and facilities for wildlife or
environmental education in urban areas throughout California.
This Resolution begins the application process. The funds shall be used for the
Development or rehabilitation of real property, in this case, the Old Ranch Tennis Club
Recreational/Community Center. Cost estimates for renovation of the existing building
are $1,228,546. In addition, a sound attenuation wall will be built and is estimated to cost /
$300,000. The City of Seal Beach will be applying to the State for the total amount
$1,528,546. The project would be scheduled for Fiscal Year 2003/2004.
