Bahorski, City Manager FROM: George Bernard, Public Works Assistant SUBJECT: AWARD OF A FUMIGATION AND PESTICIDE ABATEMENT CONTRACT SUMMARY OF REQUEST: The proposed City Council action will approve Fumigation and Pesticide Services for 201 & 211 8'h Street buildings by Exterminetics of Southern California, the lowest responsible bidder. BACKGROUND: The City of Seal Beach has an ongoing process of building maintenance that includes the fumigation of certain City owned buildings. The buildings for this installment for maintenance work are located at 201 & 211 8'h Street. The City of Seal Beach received four bids as follows: Exterminetics of Southern California $ 9,890 Hydrex Pest Control $10,673 Admiral Pest Control $14,985 Western Exterminators $20,100 The lowest Bid is by Exterminetics of Southern California and the company is properly licensed to do the work and has the appropriate work experience. FISCAL IMPACT: Staff estimates the total increase in the general fund's budget for termite remediation will be $9890. The current undesignated fund balance is $3,098,104. With the increase in the budgeted expenses, the General Fond undesignated balance will be $3,093,159. The remaining $4,945. will be transferred from the Riverfront Redevelopment Agency Fund.
