Dancs, Director of Public Works/City Engineer J cl SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF GRANT OF EASEMENT TO EDISON COMPANY FOR UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL SUPPLY SYSTEMS AND COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS TO SERVE PARCEL 1 OF OLD RANCH TOWNE CENTER AREA B DEVELOPMENT ON THE EAST SIDE OF SEAL BEACH BLDV AT 28000 SEAL BEACH BLVD. APPROXIMATELY 400 FEET SOUTH OF LAMPSON AVE. SUMMARY OF REQUEST: The proposed action will formally approve a Grant of Easement to the Southern California Edison Company across the City owned "greenbelt area" of the Old Ranch Towne Center Area B on the east side of Seal Beach Blvd. approximately 400 feet south of Lampson Ave. The easement is needed for the underground electrical supply systems and communications systems service to Parcel 1 of the Old Ranch Towne Center Area B located at 12800 Seal Beach Blvd. on the southeast corner of Seal Beach Blvd. and Lampson Ave. BACKGROUND: As part of the Old Ranch Towne Center Area B development Parcel I of that development is being developed with a commercial building, parking lot, and landscaping and irrigation that requires an underground electrical and communications systems service installation. The Southern California Edison Company is in the process of providing that service and needs an easement across the City owned "greenbelt area" of the Old Ranch Towne Center Area B on the east side of Seal Beach Blvd. approximately 400 feet south of Lampson Ave. for installation and maintenance of the electrical supply systems and communications systems service. Agenda Item J� Upon motion of the wnsent calendar, it is recommended that the City Council: By resolution, approve the Grant of Easement to the Edison Company. Authorize the Mayor to execute said easement. Direct the Public Works Director to forward said executed easement and a certified copy of this resolution to the Southern California Edison Company for recording with the Orange County Recorder and to obtain a recorded copy of the said easement from the Southern California Edison Company upon completion of recording.
