MEMORIAL TREE PROGRAM
SUMMARY OF REOUEST:
That council approve this City of Seal Beach Council Policy statement for resident
purchase and placement of trees to serve as living reminders of special people in their
lives.
BACKGROUND:
Until now, the City has had an unwritten policy regarding the placement of memorial
trees and/or plaques. The City has received numerous requests for individual plantings,
and a local resident has also collected money for the purpose of planting memorial trees.
FISCAL IMPACT:
All costs associated with the purchasing and planting of the tree, including staff time, will
be home through the applicant. Any changes to this program will be addressed through
regular budget procedures.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that council approve the "Memorial Tree Program" as City of Seal
Beach Council Policy.
