FROM: Doug Dancs, P.E., Director of Public Works/City Engineer
SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
LAMPSON AVENUE WALL REMOVAL
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The proposed City Council action will approve the plans and specifications, and
authorize Staff to initiate the bidding process so that a contract may be awarded for the
Lampson Avenue wall removal.
BACKGROUND:
This project consists of removing a masonry wall at two locations along the northerly
side of Lampson Avenue; 1,290 feet adjacent to Heather Avenue and 850 feet east of the
West Ed Building. The wall has deteriorated over time and would require extensive
reconstruction. Removal of the wall and dressing the slope is the most cost effective
treatment.
WG Zimmerman Engineering has completed the plans and specifications for the contract.
Anticipated completion is expected prior to the end of November.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are currently available provided by the Bixby Ranch Company Operating
Memorandum #2 which allocates $35,000 for the wall removal. The estimated cost of the
project is $35,000.
