A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE
MORTGAGE CREDIT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
IN COOPERATION WITH THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE

Whereas, there is a need to encourage the availability of homes affordable to first time
homebuyers; and
Whereas, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange (the "County") has declared its
intent to engage in a mortgage credit certificate program (the "Program") pursuant to Part 5 of
Division 31 of the Health and Safety Code of the State ofCalifomia (the "Act"); and
Whereas, the City entered into a Cooperative Agreement in October 1993 with the County of
Orange for the City's participation in the Program: and
Whereas, for the 1997 Mortgage Credit Certificate allocation. for continued participation the
City of Seal Beach is required to certifY the City's desire to participate in the Program, however, the
City is not required to enter into another Cooperative Agreement with the County
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Seal Beach
finds and determines that it is in the best interest of the City of Seal Beach to participate in the Program
and to consent to the operation of the Program by the County within the geographic boundaries of the I
City pursuant to the Act.
