Bernard, Public Works Assistant SUBJECT: AWARD OF BID - AIR COMPRESSOR SUMMARY OF REOUEST: The proposed City Council action will award the bid for the purchase of (1) Heavy Duty Air Compressor to the lowest responsible bidder, Breezer Equipment & Supply in the amount of $10,747.85. BACKGROUND: Bids were secured from vendors to purchase a Heavy Duty Air Compressor to be installed in the Water Departments one ton utility truck. This serves as the departments emergency repair vehicle in the Public Works Department. The bids were received as follows: Breezer Equipment & Supply $10,747.85 Ingersoll -Rand Equipment $12,175.75 Q -Air California $12,875.00 The lowest bidder is Breezer Equipment & Supply. FISCAL IMPACT: The funding for this equipment has been budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2000/2001 in account number 017 - 49600 -062. Agenda Item RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council award the bid for one heavy duty Air Compressor to the lowest responsible bidder, Breezer Equipment & Supply, in the amount of $10,747.85.00 and auth the City Manager to execute the purchase documents.
