Deaton; Steven Fowler, Brian McKinney; Leslie Medina; Schelly Sustarsic; Thomas Moore; Crystal Landavazo Subject: NO to LAFitness proposal I want to please request the proposed fitness center at the Shops at Rossmoor NOT be permitted to be developed /built here. I own a condo nearby and there is already too much traffic coming in and out of the Center. Currently we try to avoid certain times of day but it's generally a popular center regardless. There have been many times we've missed the light and had to wait a long time. I just can't believe this is even being considered when there is already too much traffic. If there is an emergency we are not getting out. We have a lot of residents from leisure world shopping in the area as well and its not safe to have more cars driving in and out of an already congested area. There is a much longer list of reasons but I have a one year old so I don't have time to list all the reasons but I'm sure you are well aware of the problems with this proposed gym business at this site. I support the shopping center and normal business hours for shopping, coffee shop, restaurants but I'm not in agreement with any fitness center being built The aesthetics of the area is important to me and the location design is not good for this. 1 don't want to see a wall when I leave my residence. Please do not allow this building to be built it's not a good idea and the neighbors and residents do not want this. Some people feel like they don't have a voice since they are in Rossmoor and not Seal Beach and that is not fair as they are residents as well. Thank you, Elena Contreras E. Dabney Howe and Sonja "Shona" Howe Rossmoor, CA 90720 Seal Beach City Council City Hall 211 Eighth Street Seal Beach, CA 90740 Dear Council Members: My husband and I are residents of Rossmoor, California. My husband is an original owner of our home and has lived here for 57 years. We married two years later and have continued in the same home, rearing our children in this safe neighborhood. We have watched the changes throughout the years and have enjoyed some -- but not others. We live half a block from Montecito and already have to exit Walker Lee very carefully due to traffic and street parking. We are opposed to the addition of the 24 Hour Fitness Gym. Our traffic is already complicated. We love our community where our fitness consists of walling, jogging and biking the local streets. Our grandchildren visit often and 1 am concerned for their safety due to the ever increasing traffic and also when traversing the puking areas to get to the shops and restaurants. Yes, my husband and I are senior citizens, but even though we could participate in the Silver Sneakers program, We WOULD NOT. We do not need a gym. We have safe streets and parks and fresh air to appreciate. We do not wish to see the intrusion the gym would'make on our lives. There is already a lot of street puking in our area, especially along Montecito. And those who use the center for puking would no longer be permitted to do so. They would be adding to the nighttime puking congestion along our residential streets. And we definitely would not appreciate the proposed 5 AM through I I PM hours. As for locals, there already is a 24 Hem Fitness close by on Valley View! We beg you to be more concerned about the quality of our life than the profit of your commercial venture. Please reject the proposed Gym Project. it is not a good fit for the neighborhood. Sincerely, C, r ti r E. Dabney Hoive e / Sonja"Was" Howe
