My clients have been very aggressive of late to make sure that our fees are paid as soon as possible.
As you know, that attitude is quite unusual and I truly appreciate their efforts on our behalf. We talked to
Mr. Dorsey in your absence and he suggested this letter.
As you may recall, all of the consultants and other professionals were paid upon the park purchase.
Our office, as a representative of the residents had originally requested funds be allocated for our fen.
That just wasn't in the cards, except for the original V,000 which was provided to the residents and then to
our office. Those funds were applied to the fees expended prior to the purchase.
Once it was determined that our fees were not included in the cost of issuance, we discussed other
methods of recovery. I had placed funds in the MPROP bid for a portion of our fees, but those funds are
probably going to be insufficient and, of course, delayed.
During one of our conversations I believe it was opined that the city could assist in this regard, evm
if that meant accepting Ins payment under the MPROP repayment of dee bridge lone.
Since it may be some time before the MPROP ban is placed, I wanted to comply with Frank
Boychuck.'s request w send you a close approximation of the fees the have expanded to date. I am not sure
of the fmal number as we have continued to assist the residents this past month and are working with
LILAC on the MPROP ban underwriting as well.
Basically, our efforts have been involved in three general areas: (1) the original efforts to-wd -
purchase and the bond issue, (2) the MPROP application and subsequent efforts in that regard, and (3) the
post purchase activities to usure that the LINC/SBTP resident relationship gets resolved without any
public bloodshed or resident whiplash.

Those figures, after accounting for dl payments made to date by the residents, are:
1. Pre -dose i 9,800
2 MPROP $24,315
3. Post -dose $ 4,000
I have taken several discounts off prior bills to the residents and will most likely do so again, but
the foregoing reflects our status through January 2001. 1 hope the city will be able to assist in this regard.
The amount stt forth in the MPROP proposal for our fees was $33,000 and $10,581.35. These could be
expanded or contracted bated upon the other sources of funds that may be available. If LINC does the
loan underwriting, we wi0 probably not exceed the amount sct forth in the proposal by a large amount If
we have to assist LINO to any degree or if the after shock of the conversion continues, our effort could
continue a some rate above our projection.
I hope this assists in your continuing efforts to help the Seal Beach Trailer Park residents.
Please caU with any questions.
