WHEREAS, the City of Sea( Beach is pleased to
commemorate the loo`h anniversary of the
Automobile Club of Southern California in
the year 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Automobile Club of Southern California
first opened a Huntington Beach district
office in 1969; and
WHEREAS, the Automobile Club of Southern California
continues to serve residents of the City of
Seal Beach where members have easy access
to emergency roadside assistance, road -trip
planning assistance, travel agencies, [ow -
cost, high-quality insurance and financial
services and member discounts at retailers,
restaurants and attractions; and
WHEREAS, the Automobile Club has served the Seal Beach area for 31 years,
beginning with the posting of the first directional road signs in the
County, creating the first road maps of the region and by playing a key rote
in the development of highways, streets and roads in Seat Beach and
throughout Southern California;

WHEREAS, the Automobile Club of Southern California has enhanced motorist safety
in the Seal Beach community by recognizing law enforcement officers for
their safe driving performance and working to reduce drinking and improve
teen driver safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the City Council of the City of Seal
Beach, California, does hereby recognize and honor the
Automobile Club of Southern. Cafafornia
During its loo`' anniversary celebration andfurther thanks the Automobile Club for its
support and commitment to our community.

The Automobile Club of Southern California is celebrating
its 100th Anniversary on December 13, 2000. In
preparation for our birthday party, I would like to
