Subject: Questions for tonight's Council meeting
I have a few questions for tonight's meeting.
Thank you,
Schelly
Warrants:
Check #5030 OCWD $96,476.00 What is In -lieu water?
Instead of pumping groundwater from the City wells, the needed water is delivered through the Metropolitan Water
District connection.
Check #5037 RPW $1,325.00
What are these services?
This expenditure is for rodent/pest control.
Check #5039 SIE10 $18,585.00
What is this battery for?
In our traffic signals, there are batteries that backup the power in the event of a power outage to keep the signal in
operation.
Item E. Why is Seal Way a Design project and CPE and Marina Drive are Focus Preliminary Designs? In the 2017/18 CIP,
they are all three identified as Focus Preliminary Design projects.
For the Seal Way project, there are no other alternatives. There is only one way to design the improvement. Also this a
small sump area and to minimize the cost the consultant has a final design and no other preliminary designs are needed.
In attachment C, pages 4 and 5 are almost all black. Is this supposed to be this way? Please see attached.
Item. I. What is a "Punch List" (page 11 of RFP)?
What are frag-nets (page 12 of RFP)?
• A "punch -list" is a list of corrections that the City will generate at the end of construction. These are items of
work items that were not done, or done incorrectly that needs to be fixed by the contractor prior to the project getting
signed off by the City.
• A frag-net is list of new activities (possibly unforeseen) that are proposed to be added to a schedule. In the case
of this project, they could be added items that could cause a delay in the completion of the work.
