HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 4333 1994-09-12 I I I RESOLUTION NO. 4~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, INCREASING COMPENSATION FOR THE POSITION OF CITY MANAGER, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY MANAGER WHEREAS, the city Council hired Jerry Bankston to perform the duties of City Manager and Executive Director of the Seal Beach Redevelopment Agency effective June 4, 1991; and WHEREAS, the City Council authorized periodic performance evaluations; and WHEREAS, based upon Mr. Bankston's performance, the city Council desires to increase Mr. Bankston's salary and deferred compensation. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council take the following action: 1. The City shall pay to the City Manager the monthly salary rate of $7,081.25, effective July 1, 1994. 2. 'The city shall contribute $147.60 per pay period to the city's Deferred Compensation Plan on behalf of the city Manager, effective July 1, 1994. 3. That certain amendment number one dated September 12, 1994 and attached hereto as Exhibit A, amending the agreement between the City and the City Manager is hereby approved. . 4. U ATTEST.: I \. RECITALS A. Employee is and has been employed by City, commencing June 5, 1991, as its City Manager. B. On November 8, 1992, Employee and City entered into an employment contract (the "Agreement"), formalizing the employment relationship. C. The parties desire to amend the Agreement to increase the compensation of Employee. NOW, THEREPORE, in consideration of the above recitals and of the mutual promises set forth below, the parties hereby agree: 1. Subsection B of Section 4 (SALARY) of the Agreement is hereby amended to read as follows: B. Adiustments. i. Commencina Anril 1. 1992. Effective April 1, 1992, city increased Employee's monthly salary to SIX THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($6,875). ii. Commencina Julv 1. 1994. Effective July 1, 1994, City shall pay Employee a monthly salary of SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHTY ONE DOLLARS AND TWENTY PIVE CENTS ($7081.25). 2. Subsection H (Deferred Comnensation Plan) of Section 5 (Emnlovment Benefits) shall be amended to read as follows: i. Employee shall be entitled to participate in city's Deferred Compensation Plan in accordance with the provisions of that Plan as it now exists or as it may be changed from time-to-time in the future. city contributed ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) per pay period to the Plan on behalf of Employee for the period from June 1991-June 1994. ii. Adiustments.
