However, I wanted to express my strong support for staff's proposal to do a Police Services Study (PSS). I also wanted to take this opportunity to share with you historical data that I have compiled regarding Seal Beach crime, police staffing, and various police workload indicators (see attached). I began working on this last December using the historical review in the 2004 PSS as a model. The historical review in the 2004 study seemed to be quite limited. Therefore, my goal was to create a complete and comprehensive compilation of relevant data with the hope that it would contribute to the decision making process. With the Council's pending approval of a new PSS, I now also hope that my work will be useful to this effort as well. I would like to thank the SBPD Command staff for meeting with me several times over the last four months, and Commander Gonshak in particular for his assistance in responding to my requests for public records. Chief Miller has encouraged my continued engagement with the Police Department which I look forward to. Sincerely, Robert Goldberg c v u o E u V C E u` 1: m n v m L o °0 m o No.mm.
