Have a nice Memorial Day weekend, Robert Goldberg Questions & Comments for 5/29/18 Item C: Warrants #5909, p4 for $10,061 to JCL Traffic. Several thousand $$ of this appears to be traffic control for the Run SB event. Since Run SR generates over $100,000 in net income, is the City reimbursed for its cash outlays? Item H: Landscape Contract When the Scope of Services was presented to Council on 11/13/17, staff indicated that the new contract would not include trash can pick-up in parks. At that meeting, staff indicated that park trash can pick-up was being done in-house, and the plan was to issue a separate RFP for trash service. It was hoped this would save money since this task does not require a skilled landscape laborer at $25/hour. However, the contract on tonight's agenda has a Scope of Work that includes daily "emptying of all trash cans in every park." Did staff decide to not seek a separate vender for the trash can emptying? Under the short-term "stop -gap" agreement with So Cal that we signed in February 2017, our monthly Invoices for "base" services have been about $25,000. The proposed contract raises the monthly base to an average of $39,613. This is not due an increase in wages since the wage schedule in the proposed contract did not increase from February 2017. What additional services are getting for the extra $14,000 per month, and/or did the pricing of the current services rise significantly?
