DISCUSSION: Government Code section 34090 and Resolution Number 3726 set guidelines for destruction of financial records. The City Attorney has approved the following records for destruction: All prior to June 30, 1978: General Ledger Accounts AU prior to June 30, 1992: Employee Time sheets Purchase Orders Paid Invoices Paid Checks Monthly Revenue Reports Daily Cash Summaries Monthly Expenditure Reports Water Receipts Meter Read Books Water patron Ledgers Business License Applications(after termination or expiration of license) All payroll records are being retained as a permanent record until microfilming of payroll records has been completed.
