Can we cancel the Earthlink account? Regarding the Earthlink payment of$24.95,it was a necessary expenditure until Synoptek was fully hosting the City website. Since Synoptek now fully hosts the City website,we no longer have a need to maintain the ci.seal-beach.ca.us account with Earthlink and will cancel the account during the next payment cycle. Item D Page B 5 Year projection - Could this be revised to include a written summary that can be disclosed to the public and council of projections for 4-5 major revenue items and expense items to give visibility on future obstacles; As discussed, in follow-up to this Strategic Plan objective, staff is working with the City's Financial Advisor to develop a written summary. Item F Please clarify what$260,341 will be spent on. Why is it so much more than Ocean ave estimate of 65K from 2018 Pavement Management Plan? 1 In addition to the slurry seal work this project upgrades the existing striping plan by incorporating pedestrian safety striping enhancements through-out including"high visibility" crosswalks at each of the Ocean Avenue intersections, as well as new signage. Also, thermoplastic will be used to install this new upgraded striping plan. The thermoplastic application process does increase the upfront cost but the overall lifecycle cost is actually less as compared to conventional painted striping. Thermoplastic will better withstand the harsh, coastal environment that Ocean Avenue is subjected to as compared to the standard "water based" striping paint that requires re-application at least every two years in this same environment. The project bid price also reflects the complexities of working within the Ocean Avenue ROW including traffic control phasing and coordination. The project scope/bid also includes applying a new slurry seal coat over the existing class 1 bike trail on the east side of Seal Beach Blvd.from PCH to Electric Avenue. In addition the total cost includes a 10% contingency (Based on the construction bid of $216K) and a 10% construction inspection cost. These are conservative estimates with the unspent balance going back to project account once Ocean is completed for the next phase of work which will be completed in Summer 2019. 2
