Thank you. Schelly 1 Questions for 8.13.18 City Council Meeting Schelly Sustarsic Item B. Check#7209 to Dixon Resources Unlimited for$8250 for June 2018 payment. Is this final payment for this contract? No,the contract allows for an automatic extension. Will this contract be extended or is it now complete? The Parking Team has opted to extend to at least December, through the deployment of the LPR system. Do we now have a data base or other software that we can keep track of expiring contracts? The City Clerk's office is leveraging existing software(laserfiche)to track agreement expiration dates. This project is part of our Records Management program and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year,if other priorities do not impede project progress. Is the Animal Control Contract with Long Beach due for renewal? Pursuant to Resolution 6731 approved 4/27/2017 and Section 1 of the agreement, staff has administratively processed contract renewal for 2 years with a new expiration date of June 30,2020. Item D.Strategic Objectives: Beach and Pier. In February, the Council directed staff to"begin seeking bids on 15 First Street Beach Facilities Restaurant Building Renovation Project"(Resolution 6798). This was supposed to be completed by June 1st, but we have not yet seen a contract. What is the status of these repairs? Every month of delay will ultimately cost us to lose$6700 per month in rental income. If reason for delay is not due to our repairs, should we be losing this income? The City has asked the property manager to begin charging rent. The City was supposed to"deliver"the building to the new tenant in the appropriate condition. City staff has been working with the tenant to coordinate the work that the City will do but until there are approved plans, the City has no concept with which to move forward. Item F. Slurry Seal Ocean Avenue:5T1901 I am interested in the answers to the questions that Robert Goldberg is asking regarding item F. Could you please provide answers to these two questions? If the cost of this project takes$231,587 from 561 funds, I don't see how there will be enough funding leftover to complete the remaining work by the summer of 2019(PMP lists the cost of 2019-20 Slurry Seal as$99,828 and 2020-21 Slurry Seal as$100,664). This would be$432,000. If the 4 cul-de-sacs in the area of the Almond Wall project are eliminated that would save$9,245,which is not enough savings. Are these 4 cul-de-sac streets still on the list for this year? 1 Per the approved FY 2018-2019 Budget, CIP Project No. ST1701/1801 Annual Slurry has a budget of $381,900. On July 23, 2018, the City Council awarded the project in the amount of$249,100, which leaves$132,800 of budgeted funds remaining. Per the approved FY 2018-2019 Budget, CIP Project No. 5T1901 Annual Slurry has a budget for $400,000. In the August 13, 2018 staff report agenda item F, financial impact section, $28,754 is applied to the project budget from District 1 Council Discretionary and CIP Project No. ST1805 carry- over funds. Staff is recommending to the City Council a project budget for $260,341, which leaves $168,413 of budgeted funds remaining. In combining both the above remaining balances of$132,800 and$168,413 yields a total of$301,213. The engineer's estimate for the remaining FY 2018-2019 CIP Project No. STI901 Annual Slurry is $210,000 which includes contingency, inspection and materials testing. Yes,the 4 cul-de-sacs in CPE are part of the SB1 list for FY 2018-19 Annual Slurry Seal that will come to the Council for approval of plans and specifications and award of contract in 2019. 2
