HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation - Boeing Week in Seal Beach • .sem I r _ � t 4sl = !,, , !;„„S 1441 .. .. is WHEREAS, the Boeing facility has been the major employer in _•.�� the City of Seal Beach for over 30 years; and WHEREAS, as many as 3,000 professional and union employees from Rockwell International, McDonnell Douglas and Boeing have worked and lived in our city and have supported our business community over this time period; and - WHEREAS, the Boeing facility has been the source of some of the I . . worlds major aerospace accomplishments including the second stage for the Saturn V rocket, the Global Positioning System and other experimental satellites; and WHEREAS, Boeing International and its predecessors have been a source of pride for our community by developing ant maintaining first-class, modern, safe research and laboratory and satellite production facilities; and WHEREAS, Seal Beach is now the headquarters of Boeing's Space and Communications Group with programs in communications, navigation and satellite production and other research and development projects forecasting a bright and growing future; and WHEREAS, the first week of August marks the anniversary of the consolidation of Rockwell ant McDonnell Douglas into the Boeing of today. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Paul Yost, Mayor of the City of Seal Beach, do hereby proclaim the week of August 2 - 6, 1999 as BOEING WEEK IN SEAL BEACH BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all Boeing employees are encouraged to enjoy the celebration activities arranged and to 6e aware that our community looks forward to maintaining the good community relations between Boeing and the City of Seal Beach. IN WITNESS, WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Seal Beach to 6e affixed this Twenty-sixth Day ofJuly, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-nine.
