HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 6881 2018-12-10 RESOLUTION 6881 A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL CONCERNING THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ENCROACHMENT POLICY WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach desires to relocate an 18-inch sewer line located within the Caltrans right of way; and WHEREAS, the relocation of the 18-inch sewer line is in accordance with Caltrans encroachment policy; and WHEREAS, the cost for relocation and reconstruction of the 18-inch sewer line will be borne entirely by the State Department of Transportation under Utility Agreement No. UK-102097 with all costs incurred by the City are reimbursable; and WHEREAS, the State, through Orange County Transportation Authority and OC405 Partners, have designed plans for the relocation and reconstruction of the 18-inch sewer line; and WHEREAS, Caltrans policy requires an encroachment permit for new City owned facilities within the state's right of way; NOW, THEREFORE, THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: Section 1. The City Council hereby directs the City Manager to sign the encroachment permit application with the State Department of Transportation. Section 2. The Council directs the City Manager to file the encroachment permit application with the State Department of Transportation. Section 3. The plans for the 18-inch sewer line as presented to the City Council are approved, and the City Engineer is authorized to make revisions as deemed necessary based on professional standards.
