COUNCIL COMMENTS
Council Member Massa-Lavitt spoke regarding the Municipal Election outcome,
recognizing the importance that Measure BB passed and thanking her constituents for
their votes.
Council Member Sustarsic thanked the voters in Seal Beach and in District 4 for the
passage of Measure BB, and noted the need for a _transaction and use Laes tai
easures Oran ec _County and California due to increase pension obligation costs. She 7' —
then stated her attendance with her grandchildren at t e os�lamitos-Rossmoor Library
Pumpkin Carving Contest and thanked the Lions Club, Grace Community Church, and the
Mayor for speaking at the Veterans Day Ceremony at Eisenhower Park. She recognized
and thanked Firefighters and First Responders for their efforts in battling the fires in
California. In closing she read a letter of appreciation from a resident for the special care
of the small section of the Dog Park, and thanked Recreation Manager Tim Kelsey and
Maintenance Services Supervisor Joe Talarico for their assistance and resourcefulness
with her discretionary fund project.
Council Member Moore thanked his District for their support of Measure BB, including
Polly Cross, Jim Brady, and others who supported the measure. He requested a staff
report to recruit three police officers be placed on the next City Council meeting agenda.
He stated his attendance at the Leisure World Craft Fair and Orange County City
Selection Committee where Los Alamitos Council Member Richard Murphy was re-elected
to the Orange County Transportation Authority Board, and he was elected to serve on the
Senior Services Advisory Committee.
Mayor Varipapa thanked all volunteers and voters in their efforts to pass Measure BB, and
thanked District 3 constituents for their votes of support for his service for the next four
year term. He stated his attendance at the Cypress Americana Award Kick-Off meeting
last week and then thanked the Lions Club and Grace Community Church for the
Veterans Day Memorial at Eisenhower Park. He concluded by congratulating the Los
Alamitos High School Volleyball Team for their win at the California Interscholastic
Federation (CIF) Sectional Title.

Massa-Lavitt moved, second by Moore, to approve the recommended actions on the
consent calendar, with the exception of Item H, pulled by Council Member Sustarsic for
separate consideration.
