(Excluded Councilwoman Deaton). I am told you should be in receipt of this as well. Thank you Elizabeth Kane Old Town Resident Seal Beach From: Elizabeth Kane<ebethl@hotmail.com> Sent:Saturday,January 26,2019 2:23 PM To: Elizabeth Kane Subject: Monday's Agenda Item J-Concerns on Transparency I was one of the concerned residents who attended the last Town Hall Meeting in November on the revisions to the City Parking Municipal Code. At that meeting, we were told by the consultant that they would be "taking our feedback and that of the city back to the table for rework, and that the residents would get another chance for another Town Hall and Public Hearing before anything became final." At that meeting, the consultant suggested said meeting would take place in the early February timeframe. Today I pull up the agenda for Monday and see that this item is being pushed through for reading, vote and adoption at this Monday's meeting. Why? What is the sense of emergency and urgency that the residents and business owners of this town do not get to openly see and review some of the new changes that have been introduced? For example, there is now some very restrictive and business detrimental language that has been added about our local car repair shops. I doubt that any of them have been made aware that they are about to be impacted in the manor this new code suggests. This all feels very sneaky and non-transparent to me. H. It is unlawful for any person whose business involves the repair or servicing of vehicles or vehicle components to store, stand or park any vehicle on any public street or public property after that person has accepted custody of that vehicle from the customer. Vehicle storage time shall not exceed thirty days on the premises of the repair facility. Vehicles awaiting repair shall be stored in a designated off-street storage area and shall not be stored in parking or other open areas 1 I would ask that you all take a step back on this item, table it and set up a final Public Hearing or Town Hall meeting so that you will rest assured that the residents are truly in support of whatever the final outcome is.
