Badum, Director of Public Works/City Engineer Subject: ACCEPTANCE OF ON SITE SODIUM HYPO- CHLORITE 819 CHLORITE GENERATIONS , . SUMMARY OF REQUEST The proposed action will formally accept the completion of the construction contract to install two sodium hypo-chlorite generation systems. DISCUSSION: In June, 1999, Council elected to award a project to Chemical Services Company. In accordance with the plans and specifications, the Contractor has completed the above- referenced project. The breakdown of costs are: Original Contract Price $49,645.00 $49,773.00 Contract Total Authorized Payments to date $44,796.33 $4,996.33 10%Retention 67 This project was completed within the contract time and within budget. FISCAL IMPACT Funds were expended through the Water Enterprise Fund in the Capital Improvement Project Program. RECOMMENDATION Upon motion of the consent calendar, it is recommended that the City Council: 1. By resolution, determine the work has been completed in accordance with the contract documents and declare the work to be accepted and the total amount of the contract is in the sum of $49.773.00. 1 idAgenda Item • Acceptance of Construction Contract City Council Staff Report February 28, 2000 2. Direct the City Clerk, within ten (10) days from the date of acceptance, file a "Notice of Completion"with the Orange County Recorder. 3.
