BCC: CITY COUNCIL
In response to Mayor Moore's request below, and the challenge with providing a financial analysis given the timing of
the request in preparation for tonight's budget meeting, we are providing a general summary response to the questions.
The net hourly revenue based upon calendar year 2018 parking enforcement revenue and expenditures is $93.00 per
hour. The additional Police Aides are scheduled to work less than 30 hours per week, and the only benefit associated
with working 30 hours per week or less, is sick time accrual. Ultimately the revenue generated by the three additional
part‐time positions is expected to far exceed the costs associated with the positions. Additionally, these positons will
vary in hours, and our goal is to maximize their hours during the summer season and reassess in the off season.
We can discuss further at the budget workshop tonight if there are any additional follow‐up questions.

Could you please prepare a financial analysis of the new parking personnel with # of expected tickets per person;
estimated increase in revenue and compare with the cost of hiring them along with benefits.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Tom
