Dear City Council Members:
I am a long time city resident having resided at the above address since May 1966. My
wife and I are also long time members of the Old Ranch Tennis Club. We truly value our
membership in the Tennis Club and the many friends we have made while using its
facilities and participating in events sponsored by the Club.
My purpose in addressing this letter to you is to ask that as the City prepares to take
ownership of the facility that you find some way to maintain,to the standards existing
today, at least some portion of the facility for the use of tennis playing citizens. I am very
concerned that with the city's tight financial condition that maintaining this facility
without any new revenue will be difficult if not impossible even with Bixby's
commitment of$1,000,000. I strongly support the idea that those using this new facility,
whether tennis players or those involved in other sports, pay a fee to defray the cost of
operating and maintaining the facility. This may be the only way the City can assure its
citizens that the quality asset it has been given is maintained properly.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and to consider a current Club user's
viewpoint.
Sincerely,
