I have faxed a letter to City Manager Joann, and you, seeking approval for the City Council to schedule a presentation to the Council by CAST and the Seal Beach Police. The purpose of this presentation is two-fold: 1) to alert the City council as to the valuable services provided by CAST to child victims of abuse, and 2) to commend the Seal Beach Police Department for its invaluable assistance in avoiding trauma to these children during the investigative process. Our proposed agenda is as follows: • Introduction and explanation of CAST services and role in the community • Explanation of the Seal Beach Police Department Sexual Assault Unit services and interaction with CAST. • Presentation to City Council of Truth of the Day, a collection of relevant poetry by Marianne Gilliespie. We only require an allocation of five minutes or less for this presentation. We are requesting the date of September 131" or 27'” for this presentation. Enclosed is a brochure about CAST.
