Badum, Director of Public Works/City Engineer Subject: APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF MANHOLES ON SEAL BEACH BOULEVARD, PROJECT NO. 814 • SUMMARY OF REQUEST: The proposed City Council action will approve the plans and specifications, and authorize Staff to initiate the bidding process so that a contract may be awarded for the construction of manholes on Seal Beach Boulevard, Project No. 814. DISCUSSION: This proposed project would reconstruct four manholes and polyurethane line two additional manholes just south of Westminster Avenue on Seal Beach Boulevard. These manholes are in poor condition and are seriously deteriorating and warrant timely action. The plans and specifications were completed by AKM and the projected is estimated to cost $345,000. Upon the successful bidding process and award of a contract, the project should be completed in November/December. FISCAL IMPACT: Sewer enterprise funds are currently available within the City's Capital Improvement program budget to construct these improvements as a part of the Sewer Forcemain Replacement project.
