This will also express ay outrage at the prospect of conducting this Public .Hearing on October 11 , 1999 which is a National Holiday, Columbus Day in the United States and Thanksgiving Day in Canada. I dispute the City Clerks assertion that because the City's employees are not taking the day off that the hearing should proceed as scheduled :and submit as precident the .oesation on September 23, 1996 when poised to consider the duly noticed matter of Zoning Text Amendment 96-1 at a regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the City in it 's wisdom saw fit ti cancel the City Council meeting in honor of You Kipper which is not,,. a national holiday and is in fact a day on which city employees was expected to appear for work. I request .the matter of Variance 99-2 not be heard on October 11 , 1999 that the matter be renotieed and scheduled to be heard at a later late as Mr. Alber 's "Point Man" in this matter is a Canadian National a l would prefer to spend the day giving thanks rather than fighting. Additionally the applicant has not been afforded sufficient time to assemble all related materials for his presentation which will include and require staff assistance for a video-tape presentation, slide projection presentation, and lengthly oral presentation of an estimated 2 hour duration.
