HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem C 7I September 20, 1999 STAFF REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council FROM: Pamela Arends-King, Interim Director of Administrative Services SUBJECT: 1999/2000 ANIMAL CONTROL.DEPARTMENT BUDGET AMENDMENT SUMMARY OF REQUEST: City Council approves a Resolution authorizing the increase in wages and benefits of $45,000 for a second full-time Animal Control Officer for the 1999/2000 fiscal year. DISCUSSION: Captain Gary Maiten presented an agenda report to the City Council on September 13, 1999, discussing the current Animal Control concerns and contracting with the City of Long Beach for animal control backup. The City Council took action to hire a second full- time Animal Control Officer for fiscal year 1999/2000. FISCAL IMPACT: The fiscal impact for this budget amendment is a reduction in General Fund Reserve of $45,000. RECOMMENDATION: City Council approves a Resolution amending the 1999/2000 fiscal year budget to increase the animal control budget by $45,000.
